10 Best Disposable Diapers for Sensitive Skin 2024

Diaper rash can be caused by a variety of factors, but it might also suggest that your child is experiencing a negative reaction to the diaper you’re using. Some of the components in traditional diapers are recognized irritants to which some children are more sensitive than others. It may be time to switch diapers if your child’s bum is consistently red and rough during diaper changes.

Moreover, some babies may face eczema, especially if the parent or a relative has a problem with eczema. Furthermore, some babies may develop eczema, especially if a parent or a relative suffers from eczema. Eczema is characterized by red patches of dry, itchy skin. This typically shows in the baby’s arms, legs, and cheeks, but it can appear anywhere in the body, including the baby’s bum.

While diapers do not usually cause eczema, if they are fragranced or contain harsh ingredients, they may aggravate the symptoms. So here are the best diapers for sensitive skin 2022.

Pampers Pure Protection Review
With the first baby, she kept getting rashes with the normal pampers and huggies. Switching the the Pampers sensitive appeared to have help. On the second baby, she still got random rashes but less frequent than first baby. Switched to the Pure, and the rashes was rare. With the third baby, using the Pure was a no brainer and it’s confirmed maybe one rash in over a year and that might be related to food...

Absorbency: this can hold a ton of liquid for sure and several sessions and the thing can weigh like a brick! Maybe if ignoring too long it will overflow, but that’s a personal issue (Bad parent)!

Sensitive Skin: you are more likely to get a rash if you do not change the diapers, lol. But even with neglect, as most parents experience specially at night, the Pure brand has really helped with rashes. We don’t even dry it at all after we wipe and no issues.

Honest Company Diapers Review
My baby has only had 2 (knock on wood) blow outs with these diapers and that’s because he likes to stock up for a week at a time before pooping. He sleeps in this diaper and he has never had a single leak. In pampers he leaked every time he was laying down because his teeny waist.

The stretch band on honest diapers stops everything. You can tell how much better they are just by touching them. If you subscribe and save you’re basically paying the same price as Pampers and the less diapers you use from not having leaks, you end up spending the same for Honest Diapers. The super cute designs are just a cherry on top.

Eco by Naty Baby Diapers Review

- Good, relatively environmentally friendly and healthy diaper for baby. Doesn't contain chlorine or other bad chemicals found in a lot of the mainstream diaper brands. (OK, probably not as green as cloth diapers, but if you are looking for disposables, this is pretty good).

- Fits well. We have NEVER had a problem with leaky diapers through any fault of the diaper itself. The only times we've had blowouts are when the diapers are getting too small for baby and we've had to move up in size. The only time we've had leaks are when we didn't tie the diaper on correctly which is our own fault . Hint - you have to make sure the little frills on the side frill 'outward' not 'inward'.

- Seems soft and comfy for baby
- No issues with diaper rash
- Cute little star designs on diaper
- Note, we use these overnight on baby (10-12 hrs) and have not had any leakage issues although baby does wake up with quite a full diaper :)

Babyganics Baby Diapers Review
I originally stocked up on another brand of diapers for my newborn. I received these initially as part of a gift, but they ended up being the brand I primarily use.

FIT: they’re a slimmer fit than the major brand I originally bought. My baby was on the heavy side (9lbs at birth) but long and not that chubby so the slimmer fit was great.

WETNESS INDICATOR: I could not give a 5th star because the indicator is not as easy as others. As a sleep deprived new mom, I can’t be asked to decipher if the green shapes are ever so slightly faded. If they changed color that would be easier. Sometimes I felt the indicator was also slightly slower to react than the other brand I used, but that could be sleep deprivation and impatience...

ABSORBENCY: I was pleasantly surprised by how much these things hold! I’ve never once had a leak. There was an explosive poop event, but even then it only went up her back a bit (which happened in another brand too) and was not a diaper flaw. The absorbency is really what sold me on these.

6. Mama Bear Gentle Touch Diapers, Hypoallergenic

Diapers at a great value with excellent leakage protection, day or night; Wetness indicator shows when it’s time for a change. Thin design with flexible fit for comfortable movement; Umbilical cord cut-out protects baby’s belly button. Breathable outer cover helps keep baby’s skin dry and healthy

Mama Bear Gentle Touch Diapers Review
I read many reviews and was hesitant to buy these diapers… and honestly I’m really happy with them. It’s hard to buy chemical free diapers with CLEAN ingredients for an affordable price. I purchased bamboo diapers in the past but couldn’t afford $70 for 200 diapers. These are actually even less expensive then hello bello diapers from WALMART. I paid $25 for 84 or something…. And these certainly compare to them.

They are a bit thinner then most high end diapers but they are much more comfortable on my baby.. especially where the diaper strap is. I want to mention they are TRUE TO SIZE, And they do not run small for those who have said that. They actually are a tad bit larger which is very nice. My child is a size 3 and the hello bello 3 is definitely more snug and less room around the strap area. I’m very happy with these and will continue to buy.

Review
We gave these a try and they didn’t disappoint! Similar to more eco options like honest and sev. Gen these definitely are gentle and absorb but they do get heavy when soaked so don’t last quite as long as some of the less Eco options. My one request would be offering larger box qty options for a slightly better price as we usually like to but enough for at least a month at a time. Way to go!

Bambo Nature Eco-Friendly Baby Diapers Review
This diaper is truly fragrance free and dye free, and the Abena/Bambo company is unbelievably transparent about their practices (check out their website for more info than you thought you could want on a diaper). I feel good about putting my baby in this diaper. Maybe not as good as I would using cloth diapers, but for a disposable it is pretty hard to beat.

Eco Boom Diapers Reviews
Review for ECO BOOM Biodegradable Diapers 100% Eco-Friendly Natural Diaper Size 5 (26lb+) Infant Anti Leak System

These diapers are soft, absorbent and apparently comfortable. They have the same features as most of the big brands. The closures are Velcro rather than tape. There is elastic around the legs with a leak barrier there as well. The yellow line is present that reveals when the diaper is wet.

The padding goes all the way up on the back of the diaper and there is elastic in the front of the waist area. The bamboo liner keeps moisture away from your baby’s bottom.

Overall: diaper does what it is supposed to and is biodegradable.

FAQs

1. How Often Should You Change Your Baby's Diaper?

Change your newborn’s diaper every two to three hours, or as needed, according to experts. Because if the diaper isn’t changed frequently, the baby is at risk of developing skin rashes, infections, and a variety of other health problems.

2. What is diaper rash?
Diaper rash is a common type of inflamed skin (dermatitis) that appears on your baby’s bottom as a patchwork of bright red skin. Wet or infrequently changed diapers, skin sensitivity, and chafing are all common causes of diaper rash.

3. What causes diaper rash?
Diaper rash can be caused by a variety of factors. Diaper rash can occur when a new food is introduced into your child’s diet. It could also be the result of a new laundry detergent or bath product.

Diaper rash can also occur when a child’s diaper is not changed frequently enough or caused by antibiotics your child is taking. Additionally, diapers or wipes that aren’t compatible with your child’s skin may be the reason of their diaper rash.

4. How to treat diaper rash?
Know the cause
If the cause is a lack of hygiene, you should change your child’s diaper on a regular basis, making sure to thoroughly clean the baby’s bottom with a wipe or wet washcloth after each change. Then, apply a thin layer of diaper rash ointment to your baby’s bum to keep moisture at bay.

If your baby’s skin is really sensitive, it is best to use a diaper designed for sensitive skin. Change your child’s diaper frequently to avoid diaper rash in the future — moisture trapped on your child’s skin for an extended period of time can be quite harmful.

If it is due to a yeast infection. This will take a week or two of daily application of anti-fungal cream. Always make sure that your baby’s bottom is dry and clean while you’re treating them.

5. What to know about diaper rash?
Diaper rash is frequently caused by a skin irritation caused by too much moisture in the diaper. The best way to solve this problem is to keep your baby’s bottom dry.

For heavy wetter, do not change diapers too soon because if your baby sitting in a lot of moisture for long periods that can cause rashes.

It is also critical to avoid using any petroleum-based products on your baby’s sensitive skin because they cause too many dry spots, which can worsen the condition or cause more frequent flare-ups. Vaseline, Icy Hot, and Aquafor are examples of such products.

6. How to choose the best diaper for diaper rash?

a. Size
Most newborns gain about 3 pounds during the first month and babies born with a higher birth weight tend to skip this diaper size altogether. Therefore, there’s no point stockpiling on size NB.

You can always start small. Try stockpiling no larger than size 1, just in case you don’t like the first brand you try.

Once you get a feel for fit, cost, brand, and size, go ahead and purchase more — up to an entire year’s worth or more of diapers. Keep in mind your own baby’s weight and rate of gain when planning. Never pay full price for diapers unless it’s an emergency

b. Price
Expensive diapers are not always suitable for your baby. But do not use cheaper diapers if it is not suitable for your baby’s skin because if your baby’s skin got rashes and infection, you will spend more money for the treatment.

c. Feature
If your baby’s skin is sensitive, make sure that the diapers you chose is hypoallergenic or for sensitive skin.

And if your baby has eczema, make sure the diapers you chose are fragrance-free and do not contain any harsh ingredients because they may aggravate the symptoms.

7. What is hypoallergenic?
In dictionary, hypoallergenic is “(especially of cosmetics and textiles) relatively unlikely to cause an allergic reaction”.
