10 Best Diapers for Eczema of 2023

Eczema is described as red patches of dry and itchy skin. This usually flares up in the baby's arms, legs and cheeks but it can appear anywhere else in the body too, including their bum. It often begins during their early years and may run in families. So if the parent or a relative has a problem with eczema, the baby may face that issue as well.

While diapers themselves usually don't cause eczema, but if they’re fragranced or made of harsh ingredients, this could aggravate the symptoms.

Eco Boom Diapers Reviews
Review for ECO BOOM Biodegradable Diapers 100% Eco-Friendly Natural Diaper Size 5 (26lb+) Infant Anti Leak System

These diapers are soft, absorbent and apparently comfortable. They have the same features as most of the big brands. The closures are Velcro rather than tape. There is elastic around the legs with a leak barrier there as well. The yellow line is present that reveals when the diaper is wet.

The padding goes all the way up on the back of the diaper and there is elastic in the front of the waist area. The bamboo liner keeps moisture away from your baby’s bottom.

Overall: diaper does what it is supposed to and is biodegradable.

Mama Bear Gentle Touch Diapers Review
I read many reviews and was hesitant to buy these diapers… and honestly I’m really happy with them. It’s hard to buy chemical free diapers with CLEAN ingredients for an affordable price. I purchased bamboo diapers in the past but couldn’t afford $70 for 200 diapers. These are actually even less expensive then hello bello diapers from WALMART. I paid $25 for 84 or something…. And these certainly compare to them. They are a bit thinner then most high end diapers but they are much more comfortable on my baby.. especially where the diaper strap is. I want to mention they are TRUE TO SIZE, And they do not run small for those who have said that. They actually are a tad bit larger which is very nice. My child is a size 3 and the hello bello 3 is definitely more snug and less room around the strap area. I’m very happy with these and will continue to buy.

Pampers Cruisers 360 Review
We LOVE these diapers. My little guy is huge (greater than 99%). He has chunky thighs and a belly. The tape sided diapers (all brands) were rubbing & chaffing him so bad. Then he discovered how to rip the tape off and get the diaper off! So at 13 months we switched him to these. We’ve been using them for almost 4 months and LOVE them. He can’t get them off! When he poo’s I just rope the sides and it comes off like a normal diaper. These babies hold a TON of liquid too. He never has leaks.

Huggies Special Delivery Reviews
I have been using these diapers since my 10 month old was a newborn, I swear by them as they are super absorbent and soft. I try not to wake him up during long naps and when he is sleeping well at night, I can rest assured that with these diapers I can wait until he wakes up on his own and there won’t be any leaking in the meantime. They are worth the extra money opposed to cheaper options but I am coming back to reorder and I see the price has jumped up $30 for the same size/amount of diapers. I hope to see them back between the $50-$60 price range soon.

Happy Little Campers Diapers Review
We gave these a try and they didn’t disappoint! Similar to more eco options like honest and sev. Gen these definitely are gentle and absorb but they do get heavy when soaked so don’t last quite as long as some of the less Eco options. My one request would be offering larger box qty options for a slightly better price as we usually like to but enough for at least a month at a time. Way to go!

FAQ

1. Diapers Guide 101

2. How to Buy Baby Diapers

Most newborns gain about 3 pounds during the first month and babies born with a higher birth weight tend to skip this diaper size altogether. Therefore, there’s no point stockpiling on size NB.

You can always start small. Try stockpiling no larger than size 1, just in case you don’t like the first brand you try.

Once you get a feel for fit, cost, brand, and size, go ahead and purchase more — up to an entire year’s worth or more of diapers. Keep in mind your own baby’s weight and rate of gain when planning. Never pay full price for diapers unless it’s an emergency (more on saving on diapers below).

Keep in mind that different brands may work better or worse for different babies, so be open to trying a few different diapers before you decide on the right ones for you. Sometimes a diaper that costs a little more is a better fit and works better, making it worth the extra money.

3. How Often Should You Change Your Baby's Diaper?

Change your newborn’s diaper every two to three hours, or as needed, according to experts. Because if the diaper isn’t changed frequently, the baby is at risk of developing skin rashes, infections, and a variety of other health problems.

4. Things to Consider When Picking Your Baby's Diaper

a) Pick Trustable Brands
Make sure you pink a trustable brand.

b) Diaper Features
Make sure your diapers have features that are suitable for your condition. For example; Good Absorbency, Wetness Indicator Lines, Soft and Breathable, Stretchability and Fit.

c) Pick the right size

Avoid loading up on one size because your baby will require bigger-sized diapers every few months.

d) Skin Sensitivity

If your baby has sensitive skin like having rash because of diapers. You must look for hypoallergenic diapers. For example: Huggies Little Snugglers

5. Benefits of Disposable Baby Diapers

Disposable diapers are light, compact, absorbent, leak-proof, and simple to use nowadays. Because of the softness, lightness, and ‘breathability’ of the fabrics used, newborns and toddlers find it comfortable to wear. Keep the skin drier and healthier as a result.

6. When does a child usually stop using diapers?

Between the ages of 18 and 30 months, most children will have completed toilet training and will be ready to stop using diapers, however, this is not the case for all children. In some cases, kids still wear diapers until they are four years old.

7. Diaper Rash

a. What is diaper rash?
Diaper rash is a common type of inflamed skin (dermatitis) that appears on your baby’s bottom as a patchwork of bright red skin. Wet or infrequently changed diapers, skin sensitivity, and chafing are all common causes of diaper rash.

b. Causes of diaper rash
Diaper rash can be caused by a variety of factors. Diaper rash can occur when a new food is introduced into your child’s diet. It could also be the result of a new laundry detergent or bath product.

Diaper rash can also occur when a child’s diaper is not changed frequently enough or caused by antibiotics your child is taking. Additionally, diapers or wipes that aren’t compatible with your child’s skin may be the reason of their diaper rash.

c. What to know about diaper rash
Diaper rash is frequently caused by a skin irritation caused by too much moisture in the diaper. The best way to solve this problem is to keep your baby’s bottom dry.

For heavy wetter, do not change diapers too soon because if your baby sitting in a lot of moisture for long periods that can cause rashes.

It is also critical to avoid using any petroleum-based products on your baby’s sensitive skin because they cause too many dry spots, which can worsen the condition or cause more frequent flare-ups. Vaseline, Icy Hot, and Aquafor are examples of such products.

d. How to treat diaper rash

Know the cause. If the cause is a lack of hygiene, you should change your child’s diaper on a regular basis, making sure to thoroughly clean the baby’s bottom with a wipe or wet washcloth after each change. Then, apply a thin layer of diaper rash ointment to your baby’s bum to keep moisture at bay.

If your baby’s skin is really sensitive, it is best to use a diaper designed for sensitive skin. Change your child’s diaper frequently to avoid diaper rash in the future — moisture trapped on your child’s skin for an extended period of time can be quite harmful.

If it is due to a yeast infection. This will take a week or two of daily application of anti-fungal cream. Always make sure that your baby’s bottom is dry and clean while you’re treating them.

e. How to choose the best diapers for diaper rash

i. Size

Never pay full price for diapers unless it’s an emergency

ii. Price
Expensive diapers are not always suitable for your baby. But do not use cheaper diapers if it is not suitable for your baby’s skin because if your baby’s skin got rashes and infection, you will spend more money for the treatment.

iii. Features
If your baby’s skin is sensitive, make sure that the diapers you chose is hypoallergenic or for sensitive skin.

And if your baby has eczema, make sure the diapers you chose are fragrance-free and do not contain any harsh ingredients because they may aggravate the symptoms.
