Welcome to our OneDayMD (One Day Medical Doctor) Blog

  • WELCOME TO MEDIC-LAND!

Finally, a truly interesting medical blog, written for the everyday layman - easy to understand and digest. And no, it is not about any mundane medical terminology or any boring lecture on jargons and stuff the white-coated smarties are known for.
Come on over to the real world and have fun, YES WE MEAN IT, real fun understanding bodily charms and medical gems that can do you a world of good…maybe not today, maybe tomorrow!
5 years of slogging compressed into a 1-day blurbs?
Unbelievable but true!

  • WHO'D FIND THIS BLOG USEFUL? YOU!!!

Perhaps you fall into one of these interesting categories:
  1. You've got a keen interest in medicine but you are still a teenager studying in school. You can't wait to go to medical school and you would like to have a quick overview of what medicine is all about.
  2. You have a lot of healthcare-related questions but do not want to see a doctor just to ask questions, which you feel, may be silly. You wish you could take up a course, one that is affordable and at your own time and pace.
  3. You have been surfing to various healthcare-sites but end-up feeling frustrated with more questions. You realize you need a basic course that will provide you with an overview of this big medical jigsaw puzzle.

Why not get it straight to the point? Trash those wordy, university-based knowledge devised for those who have slogged 5 years at university. You may be a graduate in a different field but if you are working, it is impossible for you to go through all the papers. It is inevitable that each technical field has its own language, understood only by those who have gone through the years of studying.

But fear not. There is now a new gateway into the world of medicine and finally, an opportunity to understand what all those jargons mean (without the hard work, of course!).
This is not an indepth program but rather a basic overview to give you a jumpstart. After re-visiting this blog, you'll find visiting other health websites a breeze. Previously, it would be difficult for a layman to visit those sites in a proper and orderly manner. Before you understand specialised knowledge, you need to have basic and general knowledge of the subject matter.
It is not necessary for me to "re-invent the wheel" and therefore I have provided the various links that are related to each subject. Most of the learning will be provided by the links and we do not wish to take credit for that.

This blog will facilitate and guide your learning in a systematic approach. It is structured in such a way that you have the big picture and that technicalities don't drown you. Most of the sites are specialised sites and you may need to, over time, to return to this blog to broaden your understanding. This site is meant to complete the big puzzle. Do refer to any online medical dictionary when in doubt. The contents in this site are kept to a minimum in order to comply with the 'keep it simple and short' concept.

Please let me know whether this concept will be useful to you? We will start to write and upload the content as soon as possible. Please add this address to your 'favorites' and come back regularly for updates.
