I advise finding an obstetrician in advance if you wish to become pregnant soon. You may schedule a "pre-natal" appointment. To ensure the greatest possible outcome for your pregnancy, some obstetricians may advise you to take certain vitamins.
Make sure they are the right person for the position by asking a few questions. Find out how many deliveries they perform per month, how many are Caesarian sections and how many are regular deliveries (C-sections).

All of our 6 babies were born in UM with 5 in UMSC (Specialist wing) and the last one in PPUM. In my case, we followed the gynae and yupe, cost also plays an important part in deciding where to deliver your miracle hehe. PPUM is actually on the same floor as UMSC and other than you can't choose the attending doc who will receive your baby plus the difference in costs, there is not so much difference between UMSC and PPUM. On the cost though, there has been a steady increase for UMSC since 2008 till now. My first daughter was born in 2008 with a total cost of RM2200 for a 3 days 2 night stay versus my 5th boy who was born in 2016 with a total cost of RM5500 for a 1 day no night stay hahah. We only have single room for maternity ward which is at RM238 + RM50(Nursing Charges)

If your baby is having a 'fetal distress' meaning a sign your baby isn't coping with labour. It might mean they need a caesarean or a C-section to speed up the birth.
Fetal distress is an emergency in which a baby experiences lack of oxygen. Your gynae must immediately address and manage fetal distress to avoid serious complications, such as brain injury, cerebral palsy (spastic baby) and even stillbirth.
Obstetrics is not rocket science. Choose a gynae who has time for you. A very busy gynae does not necessarily mean that she/he is the best gynae for you.
8) Gynae's expertise and experience
Some gynaes prefer caesarian section (c-section) as they can control the delivery time. As for normal vaginal delivery, the timing is often unpredictable and might happen during the odd hours of the day. Some gynaes will be upfront and will inform you that they don't do normal vaginal delivery. You just need to find another option.
