I am a nurse and I did a ton of research on these. I saw a lot of reviews from healthcare professionals also. I am not pregnant but I take this as a regular multivitamin. These are a liquigel and are not that big and easy to swallow. I am sensitive to vitamins and get nausea so I take vitamins at night usually but I can take these in the morning on an empty stomach and no nausea. I do have MTHFR and these do have folic acid not folate but I have lived my whole life not knowing and I survived all the fortified grains and pastas and 2 babies I think I will live. I do take a methylated B complex so that should help. I was taking the Honest Company brand ( which are great) prenatal because they were the only cheaper alternative with methylated folate but even at 20 bucks for 30 days it was breaking my bank. These are great quality, quantity (2 months) and inexpensive and provide more vitamins than most. Sorry but very few supplements are worth the extra money. More expensive does not mean better. Don't buy into the sales pitches people.

Ratings

My wife has taken this supplement during the pregnancy and during breastfeeding for our first child and the results have been spectacular.
Our son is much smarter than his peers. He is a master builder with blocks and his he says more words than I do and he’s 2.
He is also the most handsome child anyone has ever seen. He was doing the “Blue steel” as he came out of the birth canal. Amazing.
Very happy with the results of this supplement! Five stars.

FAQ : What Should You Avoid when Taking Prenatal Vitamins?

Always check with your doctor before adding any additional supplements outside of any prenatal vitamins you may be taking.

1. Excessive Vitamin A : This vitamin is important for fetal vision development and immune function. We usually get enough Vitamin A from existing prenatal vitamins and foods. Furthermore, it is fat soluble thus your body stores excess amounts in the liver. Too much of it in the liver may lead to liver damage or birth defects.

2. Excessive Vitamin E : This vitamin is involved in gene expression and immune function. However, taking too much may increase the risk of abdominal pain and premature rupture of the amniotic sack.

3. Excessive Vitamin B6, C and D

4. Black Cohosh : Used for controlling hot flashes and menstrual cramps. It is unsafe to take during pregnancy as it can cause uterine contractions, leading to preterm labor. It may also cause liver damage.

5. Goldenseal : A dietary supplement to treat respiratory infections and diarrhea. It contains berberine, which has been shown to worsen jaundice in infants. It can lead to a condition called kernicterus, a rare type of brain damage that can be fatal.

6. Dong Quai : A root that is popular in traditional Chinese medicine to treat everything from menstrual cramps to high blood pressure. It may stimulate uterine contractions, raising the risk of miscarriage.

7. Yohimbe : Yohimbe is used as an herbal remedy to treat a range of conditions from erectile dysfunction to obesity. This herb has been associated with dangerous side effects like high blood pressure, heart attacks, and seizures.

8. Other herbal supplements that should be avoided during pregnancy:
- Saw palmetto
- Tansy
- Red clover
- Angelica
- Yarrow
- Wormwood
- Blue Cohosh
- Pennyroyal
- Ephedra
- Mugwort
