14 Best Baby Diapers of 2025 - Price, Reviews, Comparison

 What Makes a Good Diaper?

Babies go through a lot of wet and soiled diapers during those first few weeks. To prepare for this phenomenon, most parents build a stockpile of diapers before baby arrives. This can be an overwhelming task for both seasoned and first-time parents, and there are many factors to consider when stocking up, such as baby’s weight, diaper fit, and finances.

a. Softness

Baby skin is delicate and sensitive, especially during the newborn days. And your baby will have a diaper resting against their skin 24/7 for at least a few years. A good disposable should be made from materials that are as soft and comfortable as possible, both inside and out.

b. Stretch

Babies come in all different shapes and sizes. While you can’t fully control fit, a diaper that stretches to conform to the broadest range of babies’ weights and sizes offers the best chance of a good fit and, ultimately, fewer leaks. A good option is diapers with good stretch (but not too much) around the belly and leg openings.

c. Ruffles

They’re cute—but they also help control leaks and blowouts by acting as a containment barrier between the mess inside the diaper and the outside world. Always make sure the ruffles are untucked and flared out at every diaper change. A good diaper should have large ruffles that are extra…ruffly, for lack of a better word.

d. Closures (tabs)

A good diaper should have wide tabs that are easy to grab and easy to open and close. (Fumbling with a bad diaper tab is frustrating and can slow down a diaper change.) The hook and loop closure should be secure, even if you have to readjust the tabs a few times to get a good fit.

e. Dryness and absorbency

Babies may pee as much as every one to three hours, so even if you’re super on top of diaper changes, odds are your little one is going to be spending at least some time in a wet diaper. While a little wetness is inevitable, a good diaper should absorb liquids quickly and pull it away from your baby’s skin to keep them as dry and comfy as possible.

f. Cost

On average, a baby will go through between 2,500 and 3,000 diapers within their first year. With the average cost of a diaper on our list coming in at 28 cents, most parents want to be conscious of price when diaper shopping. But you’ll also need to weigh cost against performance.

g. Materials and ingredients

Disposable diapers as we know them today have been around for a long time and have undergone decades of safety testing. While ingredients and materials certainly do matter, especially if you or your baby are particularly sensitive to a certain fragrance or ingredient, rest assured that the vast majority of diapers sold in the US are safe and that decision-making around these factors is often a matter of personal preference.

h. Environmental impact

According to the Environmental Protection Agency, disposable diapers make up about seven percent of nondurable household waste in landfills.

But, the most popular, most affordable and easiest-to-get disposable diapers on the market are not compostable or biodegradable. Claims like “better for the Earth,” “more natural,” or “sustainable” are loaded—and often very nuanced—claims. And many eco-friendly diapers don’t work nearly as well as their more traditional counterparts.

When it comes to choosing the best diaper for your baby, parents seek a balance of comfort, absorbency, and eco-friendliness. Coterie diapers have gained popularity for their high-performance features, premium quality, and commitment to sustainability. But what makes them stand out from traditional diaper brands? Let’s take a closer look.

Unparalleled Comfort for Your Baby

One of the biggest concerns for parents is ensuring their baby stays comfortable throughout the day and night. Coterie diapers are designed with an ultra-soft, cloth-like feel that minimizes irritation. Made with hypoallergenic materials, they are free from harsh chemicals, fragrances, and dyes, making them a great option for babies with sensitive skin.

Superior Absorbency for Longer Wear

Coterie diapers boast an industry-leading absorbency rate, offering up to 70% more liquid retention than traditional brands. This feature helps prevent leaks and blowouts, ensuring your baby stays dry and comfortable for extended periods. The quick-wicking technology also reduces moisture exposure, lowering the risk of diaper rash.

Eco-Friendly and Sustainable Design

Many parents are now prioritizing sustainability when selecting baby products. Coterie is committed to reducing its environmental impact by using responsibly sourced materials and minimizing waste. Their diapers are made with a blend of plant-based materials and are free from chlorine, parabens, latex, and other harmful substances. Coterie Diapers Reviews

1.  Amazon
Coterie diapers in size 4 are an absolute game-changer! As a mom, I've tried numerous diaper brands, but none compare to the comfort, absorbency, and quality of Coterie.

My 15-month-old daughter has sensitive skin, but with Coterie, diaper rashes are a thing of the past. The material is incredibly gentle, and she loves wearing them.

Soft, clean, simple, no leaks, no worries. I wish I had discovered this brand when my first daughter was in diapers!

3. Reddit
I’ve been using coterie for my 16 month old since birth and I love them. I’ve never run out, their delivery sizes are ample. They are super absorbent and usually if I was having leaking or blowout issues it’s because I needed to alter the size.

Their customer service is great and there’s been times where I wanted to exchange for a different size and they refunded me the difference. I highly recommend them. They’re not cheap but I wouldn’t use any other brand. His rashes have been very minimal too.

2. Huggies Little Snugglers Baby Diapers - Best Disposable Diapers for Sensitive Skin

Pros
There is a good amount of velcro to keep the diapers on (ideal for older babies attempting to rip them off)
The design may work better for bigger, chunkier babies
Free of fragrances, parabens, lotions, and elemental chlorine — which is more gentle on babies’ skin

Cons
These diapers make more of a crinkly sound which could irritate a baby during sleep
Not much transparency on how the diapers are made
Not as eco-friendly

Absorbency
Huggies is known to absorb well and my experience with the brand has proven that true. In fact, the main reason why I have stuck with this brand for my daughter is because I rarely come across any ‘leakage’ (they’re also very affordable). While comparing Huggies to Pampers, I did notice the bottom of the Huggies diapers felt a bit thicker than its closest competitor which could help lock in more wetness.

Overall fit and comfort
When comparing Huggies to the other two popular brands, I could visibly see that they’re a bit wider, which makes them more suited for chunkier babies. If a baby isn’t big enough, they may not “fill” the diaper, which could lead to leaks. For bigger babies, they fit like a dream. The brand also has a good amount of stretch, and the material has never irritated my daughter’s skin (it’s free of fragrances and lotions).

Design and wetness indicator
Almost identical to Pampers, Huggies diapers have one thick line down the middle that turns from yellow to blue to cue wetness. I’ve had no issues reading this indicator, but my personal preference is still the double-lined indicator from Coterie. In terms of overall design, Huggies does have some muted patterns and colors, but nothing distracting. My one wish would be that the velcro was a different color than the rest of the diaper, so it would be easier to find.

Huggies Little Snugglers Review

We’ve gone through a lot of diapers for our 18mo. old son and Huggies Little Snugglers have proven to be the best. We almost never have any issues with leaks or defects. I appreciate that they are clearly marked for front and back and are fairly easy to put on. The pee indicator strip is accurate and easy to see. They are nice and soft and I believe we’ve only seen a rash a couple of times when he got really sweaty.

We’ve tried Huggies Little Movers, but they leaked occasionally. Even though my son is very active, we’ve found the Little Snugglers to be the best. They recently made some minor design changes, but we have not noticed any decline or difference at all in quality.

Luvs Diapers Review

First want to start off by saying I used these for my daughter for the first month and a half of her life. Loved these when she was small, they didn’t leak, and they didn’t seem as inflexible as other diapers did. Worked great for us so I’m rating the product well.

Once she got out of size ones I order size twos. That was my mistake there. The bigger she got, and the bigger her volume of pee got, the less effective the diaper was. I would definitely say these are good to use while the baby is in size ones, to save some money, but after size ones I would recommend switching. She leaked through a lot after that. So size ones are five stars for me, size twos are zero stars.

- The Huggies Overnites diaper was able to prevent leaks because of its relatively higher waistline.
- Pampers Overnight has a softer material compared to Huggies Overnight.

Huggies Overnight Diapers Reviews

Customers find these overnight diapers to be among the best, with incredible absorbency and keeping babies dry throughout the night. Moreover, they work particularly well for 7-month-olds. The leak-proof performance receives mixed feedback - while some report no leakage, others experience leaks every night.

I buy these in a size up for my daughter for over night diapers. We’ve used these since she was an infant. During the day we use Andy Pandy bamboo diapers. But over night we needed “industrial strength” diapers to let her sleep as long as possible.

When she was little I did a “scientific” at home test where I bought a trial pack of every brand of diaper I could get my hands on. I tried each brand on her for multiple nights. Some brands leaked, some brands felt wet in the morning. This is the only brand that didn’t leak and felt dry on my hand in the morning while completely full from the night before.

Pampers Overnight Diapers Review

Customers find these overnight diapers effective and appreciate their extra-absorbent core that holds tons of liquid. They keep babies dry throughout the night, with one customer noting their baby wakes up completely dry. The leak resistance receives mixed feedback, with some customers reporting no leaks while others say they leak like crazy.

I almost didn’t buy these based on reviews saying they are the same as regular pampers BUT as a scientist I remembered that the thing that creates the absorbency is in between the cloth layers. It sucks up the liquid which is why a wet diaper bulges and is so heavy. So I decided to try these and they are AMAZING!

We use pampers swaddles during the day and he was peeing through them (well more they reached full capacity so his pee would sneak out the top since he sleeps on his stomach now)…he has not had a single leak with these! I know we are only 4 days in but that tells me they are without a doubt more absorbent than the regular ones. So Pampers is not trying to be sneaky and rebrand its normal diapers as overnight. I’m so glad I bought these and I highly recommend!!

Customers find these diapers to be better than top name brands, with solid quality that holds up well and is gentle on baby skin. They receive positive feedback for their absorbency, fit, and value for money, with one customer noting they're the best affordable option.

The leak resistance and rash control aspects receive mixed reviews - while some customers report very few blowouts and no diaper rash, others mention leaks everywhere and issues with rashes.

- Softness
- Absorbency

I think these are great quality!

My baby's skin doesn’t have any irritations, or issues with these diapers.

I’ve purchased size one and two, and they both fit nicely. Compared to our size two everylife diapers they're pretty similar. I also like earth and Eden because they’re reasonably priced, but still great quality.

They’re very soft, and fit our baby perfectly. Shes about 16lb right now and by the time she’s 18 lb I will have to change to size 3 diapers. So I would say these are very true to size.

I was looking for diapers with less chemicals but not crazy expensive. I’ve been using these diapers for my now 7.5 month old for several months and I love them! The material is great and with a handful less of the chemicals in most diapers. Most nights my son can go the whole night in one diaper without leaking. By morning it’s just very full. Will continue to buy these for my baby boy!

Bambo Nature Diapers Review

Customers find these diapers to be high-quality, eco-friendly, and hypoallergenic, with good softness for sensitive skin.

The absorbency receives mixed feedback - while some say they absorb well through multiple hours at night, others report they're not absorbent at all.

Customers disagree on the sizing, with some finding them perfect while others say the sizing is off, and there are mixed experiences with leakage and skin irritation.

Bambo diapers are hands down the best diapers, with no leakage and maximum absorbency. The diapers have none of the harsh chemicals and are smooth on my babies skin. 10/10 recommend these diapers, we have a larger toddler and have never had a leak or busted diaper.

9. Pampers Pure Protection Diapers

PROS: Good absorption, inexpensive, some plant based materials, wetness indicator and free from some toxins

CONS: Not nearly as “soft” as its competitors, had multiple blowouts in these ourselves, not completely free of toxins (ptathlates, dyes, etc) like many of its plant-based diaper competitors are, no subscription service option

Absorbency/Leaks
Absorbent and offer “12 hours of leakage protection”; we did not experience leaks with use, but did have a few blowouts when wearing this brand.

Eco-Friendly
These are considered “plant-based”, but don’t disclose what percentage of plant based materials they actually use (ie: Huggies SD is a low percent, but at least disclose it!)

Materials
In my opinion, this diaper was a bit more “crunchy” than I was expecting. Even the Huggies SD was softer to the touch. It was more comparable. to the Honest Co diaper feel. These diapers are somewhat plant-based. The ingredients are listed on their site here “Totalchlorine-free fluff pulp,  super absorbent polymer, Polypropylene and polyester, polyethylene, inks, adhesives, elastics, Petrolatum, stearyl alcohol, and aloe barbadensis leaf extract”

These diapers are free of fragrances, lotions, chlorine, and parabens.

Design
Sweet, simple designs

Wetness Indicator

Sizing
Ran pretty true to size for us, most parents in my community who used them thought they were overall pretty TTS

Pampers Pure Protection Diapers Review

We’ve been using Pampers Pure diapers for our 11-month-old since birth, and they’ve been amazing! From the very beginning, we’ve never had any issues with diaper rash or skin irritations. Very easy to put on and they stay on through all the adventures. The diapers fit snugly and provide maximum comfort and stretchiness around my baby’s creases and thighs, which is a huge plus.

The only time we’ve had blowouts is when it’s time to size up, but otherwise, they are thick and absorbent and offer great leak protection through the night. What I love most is that Pampers Pure diapers are plant-based and gentle on my baby’s sensitive skin, giving me peace of mind knowing they’re made with safer, more natural materials.

Overall, Pampers Pure has been the perfect choice for us—reliable, comfortable, and kind to my baby’s skin. I highly recommend them to any parent looking for a gentle yet effective diaper!

10. Millie Moon Diapers

Pros: Less expensive option, absorbent, high waisted, wetness indicators, available at Target, free from important toxins

Cons: Run large (important to read their specific sizing chart), non-sticky tabs at times, no subscription service

Absorbency/Leaks
These diapers were impressive in this department. Since this was one of the “less expensive options”, I didn’t expect it to hold up to the hype of the rest of these, but we never had issues with leaking in these diapers.

Materials
These were nice and soft, didn’t seem “crunchy”; inner layer is made from sustainably sourced wood pulp, and are Allergy Certified, Oeko-Tex Standard 100, Original Dermatest Certified (free from contact skin allergens and reactors in sensitized volunteers in controlled testing) here is the list of shared material info from their site:

“Our diapers are predominantly made of: totally chlorine-free fluff pulp, super absorbent material (SAP), polypropylene nonwoven fabrics, polyethylene film, together with some fastening and elastic materials. All materials undergo a stringent product safety assessment and are manufactured under strict guidelines.”

They are free from lotion, phthalates, latex and chlorine.

Design
Designs were simple and pretty neutral overall, also more “high-waisted” on baby, so did seem to hold in blowouts well, I did feel like the tabs sometimes weren’t “sticky” enough to stay fastened

Wetness indicator
Yes, all sizes

Sizing
These seemed to run pretty large when compared to other brands we used (IE: we needed size 4 in Coterie/Dyper/Honest, but needed size 3 in Millie Moon). But their specific sizing chart was pretty accurate based on weight when we used these.

Millie Moon Diapers Review

I really liked these. When we aren’t experiencing rashes, leaks or blowouts with a diaper, I’m pretty easy to please! Plus, these are a really nice price point I felt.

I also love that they were free from some of the super important toxins found in many diapers. I also felt like they weren’t “crunchy”’ like many diapers. we have used are. These were pretty soft, similar to higher-end brands in this post.

The only small “issue” I had, as mentioned above, was the tabs occasionally not staying “sticky” enough to stick to the diaper. I am not sure if it was just the box we used, or what, but we had 4-5 like that. However, I really liked this brand and how it was available at Target!

11. Honest Baby Diapers - Best Hypoallergenic Fragrance Free Diapers

PROS: Super cute prints, able to purchase in retailers like Target, hypo-allergenic, can choose 2 sizes for bundled box

CONS: Chemical smell, crunchy feel, less absorbent, run small

Absorbency/Leaks
We personally had a decent amount of leaks with these diapers. I felt like the leg ruffles never hugged my baby’s legs. We had multiple blowouts with these as well, even with sizing up. However, there are some parents in the KFP community who really like these and haven’t experienced leaks/blowouts as often as we did.

Eco- Friendly
Their site states:  “All our diapers use a bio-based core of sustainably-harvested fluff pulp and plant-derived materials”, but do still use some petroleum-derived plastics in their inner core (polyethylene), so not completely eco-friendly

Materials
These were definitely more “crunchy” and less “soft” than some of the other diapers. They also had a “chemical-type” smell even though they’re “fragrance free”- not sure what it was. They do list off all of their ingredients (which not all diaper companies do!) here:

Absorbent Bio-Core [Totally Chlorine-Free (TCF) Wood Pulp From Sustainably Managed Forests, Sodium Polyacrylate Containing Renewable Materials & Odor Inhibitors Including Citrus Extract & Liquid Chlorophyll], Outer Layer(Plant-Based PLA), Inner Layer (Polyethylene & Polypropylene), Leg/Waist System (Polymer Spandex & Polypropylene), Polyolefin Adhesives in the Seams & Joints, Super-Cute Design on Backsheet (Inks)

They are free from Chlorine, Pthalates, Fragrance, Parabens, and Latex

Design
They do have a lot of super cute prints to choose from, which can be really fun!

Wetness Indicator
Yes, all sizes

Sizing
These seemed to run a tad small,  we grew out of each size quickly. But, you can select 2 different sizes for your bundled box, which helps if you’re unsure of sizing or between sizes!

Honest Diapers Reviews

Customers love the patterns on these diapers and find them to be a great fit for babies.

However, the quality receives mixed feedback, with some saying they hold up well while others find them very low quality. Moreover, leakage is a concern, with some reporting no leaks while others experience constant leakage.

Additionally, the sizing is inconsistent, with some finding them true to size while others say they run slightly small.

I tried these with my first 3 babies, thinking I’d love them or they’d change something each time but always ended up going back to a different brand.

I absolutely adore the diaper prints they offer and love that they’re toxin-free (honestly, that’s a bigger deal to me than some other factors) since the diaper comes in contact with sensitive area. However, the sizing, smell, and feel weren’t great and my babies always have blowouts in these specifically, no matter the size. That’s been our experience!

This is one of the more affordable diapers with less toxic materials. We've had almost no rash problems, just occasional due to active kids and chafing. Works really well and holds up well. Not too thick but enough to hold a lot of liquid. Durable. My favorite. Not to mention super cute patterns.

How To Wash Mama Koala Diapers

1. Dump, drop, scrape, or spray solids into the toilet. For exclusively breastfed poop- it does not require any special removal. Breastmilk poop is 100% organic and will dissolve in the wash.
2. Prewash with a small amount of detergent.
3. Hot wash: add the recommended amount of detergent for the appropriate load size.
4. Cool rinse (optional). If you live in a hard water area, we do not recommend doing an extra rinse after the main wash because it might lead to build up on diapers.
5. Tumble dry low or lay flat to dry in the sunlight.

- Wash Before Wearing: All cloth diapers should be pre-washed before using so the diapers fluff up and achieve optimal softness and absorbency.
- The water temperature should not exceed 40℃/104℉ in any steps. This is because hot water will shorten the service life of the elastics and TPU.

Mama Koala Cloth Diaper Review

Customers love these cloth diapers for their wide variety of adorable patterns and adjustable sizing, with one customer noting they can accommodate up to 40 lbs.

Moreover, the diapers are made with good quality materials that hold up well, and customers find them soft and comfortable, particularly for toddlers. Additionally, they work effectively, with one customer mentioning they work well with two inserts overnight, and customers consider them good value for money.

However, there are mixed experiences with leakage, with some customers reporting no issues while others mention compression leaks.

I’m 12 months into cloth diapering and I can say these are my favorite pocket diapers I own. Even better than many of the way more expensive brands.

They are just simple, nothing complicated, two snaps on either side to fasten. I’m frustrated with some of my other brands because they have so many snaps and my son wiggles so much I can’t get the diaper on before he’s rolled away, but not these because they are quick to get on. My son has always been really chunky with very big thighs and these have fit him perfectly.

Never had any leak issues. He’s now 12 months, 25 pounds and we have the height fully extended and the waist is on the second to last snap. I think these will probably fit him until around 24 months.

Now, I have learned that I prefer All In One diapers over pockets because laundry is so much easier but that’s just personal preference.

This diaper is a good example of why expensive isn’t always the best. We’ve used a popular cloth diaper for months on our baby assuming it was the best, since it was the most expensive. The inserts in that brand were coming apart and someone suggested microfiber to stay dry longer. We didn’t want to go with another popular brand that has microfiber so we tried these. We were surprised at how great they worked.

It’s been a few weeks since using these and we love them. We prepped them as directed, use Method laundry soap, and we use a sprayer to spray off the poop in the toilet. The microfiber inserts still look brand new and we’ve never had a problem with blow outs or leaks. We love them so much, we are completely switching brands.

FAQ

1. Diapers Guide 101

2. How to Buy Baby Diapers

Most newborns gain about 3 pounds during the first month and babies born with a higher birth weight tend to skip this diaper size altogether. Therefore, there’s no point stockpiling on size NB.

You can always start small. Try stockpiling no larger than size 1, just in case you don’t like the first brand you try.

Once you get a feel for fit, cost, brand, and size, go ahead and purchase more — up to an entire year’s worth or more of diapers. Keep in mind your own baby’s weight and rate of gain when planning. Never pay full price for diapers unless it’s an emergency (more on saving on diapers below).

Keep in mind that different brands may work better or worse for different babies, so be open to trying a few different diapers before you decide on the right ones for you. Sometimes a diaper that costs a little more is a better fit and works better, making it worth the extra money.

3. How Often Should You Change Your Baby's Diaper?

Change your newborn’s diaper every two to three hours, or as needed, according to experts. Because if the diaper isn’t changed frequently, the baby is at risk of developing skin rashes, infections, and a variety of other health problems.

4. Things to Consider When Picking Your Baby's Diaper

a) Pick Trustable Brands
Make sure you pink a trustable brand.

b) Diaper Features
Make sure your diapers have features that are suitable for your condition. For example; Good Absorbency, Wetness Indicator Lines, Soft and Breathable, Stretchability and Fit.

c) Pick the right size

Avoid loading up on one size because your baby will require bigger-sized diapers every few months.

d) Skin Sensitivity

If your baby has sensitive skin like having rash because of diapers. You must look for hypoallergenic diapers. For example: Huggies Little Snugglers

5. What is diaper rash
Diaper rash is a common type of inflamed skin (dermatitis) that appears on your baby’s bottom as a patchwork of bright red skin. Wet or infrequently changed diapers, skin sensitivity, and chafing are all common causes of diaper rash.

6. What causes diaper rash
Diaper rash can be caused by a variety of factors. Diaper rash can occur when a new food is introduced into your child’s diet. It could also be the result of a new laundry detergent or bath product.

Diaper rash can also occur when a child’s diaper is not changed frequently enough or caused by antibiotics your child is taking. Additionally, diapers or wipes that aren’t compatible with your child’s skin may be the reason of their diaper rash.

7. How to treat diaper rash

Know the Cause
If the cause is a lack of hygiene, you should change your child’s diaper on a regular basis, making sure to thoroughly clean the baby’s bottom with a wipe or wet washcloth after each change. Then, apply a thin layer of diaper rash ointment to your baby’s bum to keep moisture at bay.

If your baby’s skin is really sensitive, it is best to use a diaper designed for sensitive skin. Change your child’s diaper frequently to avoid diaper rash in the future — moisture trapped on your child’s skin for an extended period of time can be quite harmful.

If it is due to a yeast infection. This will take a week or two of daily application of anti-fungal cream. Always make sure that your baby’s bottom is dry and clean while you’re treating them.

8. What to know about diaper rash

Diaper rash is frequently caused by a skin irritation caused by too much moisture in the diaper. The best way to solve this problem is to keep your baby’s bottom dry.

For heavy wetter, do not change diapers too soon because if your baby sitting in a lot of moisture for long periods that can cause rashes.

It is also critical to avoid using any petroleum-based products on your baby’s sensitive skin because they cause too many dry spots, which can worsen the condition or cause more frequent flare-ups. Vaseline, Icy Hot, and Aquafor are examples of such products.

9. Coterie vs Honest vs Pampers

a. Which Diapers Leak The Least?

In terms of diapers that leak the least, Coterie and Pampers Pure are a tie.

"We have never had a diaper leak with Coterie Diapers. Not during the day, not at night, and not first thing in the morning.

We've had many morning leaks with Honest Diapers. If you're going to use Honest diapers, it's best to get overnight diapers for nighttime.

We haven't had a leak with Pampers Pure diapers. They are the roomiest of all three diapers."

b. Which Diapers Have The Least Chemicals?

Coterie would be the best option in this category, thanks to their list of harsh chemicals that they leave out is long and impressive and readily available on their site.

a. Coterie Diapers

Coterie diapers are free of chlorine bleach, fragrances, dyes, latex, and they haven't been tested on animals. They are hypoallergenic, dermatologist tested, and use 25% plant-based materials. They are free from lotion, alcohol, parabens, phthalates, pesticides, VOCs, or optical brighteners.

Coterie uses third-party labs to test the diapers and back up their claim that they're "clean."

b. Honest Diapers

The Honest Brand's entire foundation and angle is how clean their diapers are. They even have a "NO List" — a list of over 2,500 chemicals/materials we choose not to use." They make references it to it, saying that phthalates, parabens, and animal cruelty are "no"s for them. But where is that list?

Honest also references that they research and test the ingredients in their diapers (and beauty products), but again we just have to trust them there.

c. Pampers Pure Protection

Pampers Pure diapers are accredited as skin-safe by the Skin Health Alliance. They give a full list of ingredients on their website so you can really dig into what's in them. They're chlorine-free and their odor absorber is mineral-based.

Pampers Pure diapers are made from premium cotton. The inside of them is white instead of blue (like regular Pampers diapers).

c. Which Diapers are the Softest?

Coterie is the softest, followed by Pampers Pure. Honest Diapers are reported to feel like regular diapers.

Coterie Diapers feel like cloth and are very nice to the touch. They’re made partially from “wood pulp from sustainably managed forests.”

Honest Diapers feel the most un-notable of the three. They feel like diapers.

Pampers Pure's softness stands in-between the mega-softness of Coterie and the regular-ness of Honest.

d. Which Diapers Are The Most Eco-Friendly?

Every disposable diaper is obviously going to create waste. Diapering (and babies) in general will create a footprint. But if we can go about our regular rhythm finding ways to reduce that footprint even a little, we should.

All three diaper brands are performing different efforts toward sustainability. That said, less waste is a big deal. So, Coterie would be the best option here.

Here's what each brand is doing to be more sustainable..

i. Coterie Diapers

Coterie is founded on sustainability. Their DTC model means a shorter production line, which is better for the planet. The diaper itself is made from 25% plant-based materials from sustainably managed forests, and some components of their diapers biodegrade.

Also, Coterie is 70% more absorbent than other diapers brands, which means fewer are needed to be used per day.

ii. Honest Diapers

Honest says, "We harvest wood from sustainably managed pine + spruce trees in Scandinavia to make the core of our diapers." They don't go into much more detail than that, but that's a great start.

iii. Pampers Pure Diapers

Pampers is a Procter and Gamble company, which has ambitions of reducing its carbon emissions to net-zero by 2030. The diapers are made from responsibly produced cotton and with 100% certified renewable electricity.

e. Which Diapers Have The Best Colors and Prints?

If you like all-white, you can choose between Coterie and Honest. If you like to have fun with diaper style, Honest is a good choice.

What colors and prints does Coterie offer? All white, a small black "Coterie" logo at the waistband and a faint yellow wetness indicator that turns blue when wet.

What colors and prints does Honest offer? Honest offers any sort of diaper print experience you might want. They have about 10 basic prints that are almost always available, and they release special edition prints seasonally. Some are cutesy, some are quirky, some are loud and bright, some are sweet and delicate. They also offer plain white diapers for those that prefer simple looks.

What colors and prints does Pampers Pure offer? Pampers Pure diapers do have faint prints on them, and you don't know what you're going to get until you open the box. Each box contains two subtle prints. They rotate patterns occasionally, but they're always gender-neutral and lightly printed.

10. Pampers Pure vs Honest vs Millie Moon Reddit Review

I spent some time deliberating between Pampers Pure, Honest, and Millie Moon. We were using Pampers Swaddlers for the first few months, and I didnt like how swampy the diaper would get after a little bit of pee.

Although it’s marketed as a more plant based and more chemical free diaper, it doesn’t say it’s free of phthalates…. So it probably has some, or they would tout that proudly. And it’s only 15% plant based, so I worried it would still have that plasticky feel on the inside that I was trying to avoid. Lastly, they’re pretty expensive.

Honest sounded great but based off reviews, I wasn’t sure it would hold up overnight. They sell an overnight version, but I wanted to buy just one diaper, not two types to use.

So I went for Millie Moon and I’m happy so far. I sized up compared to Pampers Swaddlers. It feels soft and cottony on the inside like Huggies. No stray flecks coming off on my baby like Pampers either. Good capacity so I don’t need an overnight version. Free of the chemicals they say to watch out for, cheaper than Pure.

11. Coterie vs Pampers Baby Dry

a. Which Diapers Are Softer?

The main difference between them is the feel on the baby’s skin.
Coterie is significantly softer on the skin compared to Pampers. This cloth-soft texture can be attributed to the Sodium Polyacrylate and Chlorine free wood pulp from sustainably managed forests used to make the absorbent sheet.

Although Pampers is soft, the inner layer is made from Polypropylene which is durable, but the texture cannot be compared to Coterie.

Coterie is, therefore, softer on the baby's skin.

b. Which Diapers Are More Leak-Proof?

Though both Pampers and Coterie offer hours of leakage protection, Coterie offers higher absorbency.

Coterie has a breathable top sheet and an acquisition distribution layer that wicks the liquid from the skin in seconds. This leaves the baby feeling dry and preventing irritation.

Pampers prevents leakage using a super absorbent gel that absorbs liquid and locks it away from the baby's skin. This gel is effective at holding liquid, but not for long periods.

c. Coterie vs Pampers Similarities

Both Coterie and Pampers diapers are free from parabens, lotions, chlorine and fragrances. They also both have wetness indicators.
