I contracted COVID back in August and was hospitalized in September. I was admitted with pneumonia, blood clots, and pulmonary embolism in both lungs. Once out I was put on blood thinners and basically told good luck. The recovery was a lot more difficult than I anticipated, and I would routinely wake up gasping for air. Even now (Prior to the NAC) my sleeping app would record my SPO2 (oxygen while I sleep) and it was always under 95% and would dip into the '80s at times.
It was affecting my sleep and my well-being. I would wake up and feel like I had not slept at all. It was miserable. I had taken NAC years ago and forgot about its effects on the lungs.
