Best Melatonin Gummies for Kids 2022

Melatonin is a naturally occurring hormone that sends a message to our brain that the day is done and it’s time for sleep. Melatonin is an important component of a healthy sleep pattern.

In children, melatonin is typically used to treat difficulties with going to sleep or staying asleep. It may be beneficial to children who are developing normally as well as those who have ADHD, autism, other developmental disorders, or visual impairment.

Before melatonin is regarded as a treatment option for most children with sleep disorders, a specific cause must be identified and treated. For example, a child suffering from anxiety may be unable to sleep. Best to ask for doctor’s permission before giving this supplement to your kid.

Is melatonin safe for children?

There are limited research of melatonin use in children. Based on this limited research, melatonin appears to be safe for children. Researchers studied a small group of children who took melatonin every day for 3.7 years. The supplement showed no negative side effects on the children, according to the researchers.

How much melatonin is safe for kids?

In children, it’s most often been used in doses up to 3 mg by mouth daily for up to 3 months.

However, best to start with the lowest dosage. Many children will respond to a low dose (0.5 mg or 1 mg) when taken 30 to 90 minutes before bedtime. Even children with ADHD who benefit from melatonin don’t require more than 3 to 6 mg of melatonin.

Always with your pediatrician about the correct melatonin dosage and time. Remember that melatonin isn’t a replacement for a proper bedtime routine.

Zarbee Naturals Melatonin Gummies for Kids Reviews:
Okay I have a 3 and 5 year old who would both wake up many times at night and when I first used these as directed they helped them sleep right away but didn’t work well after that and made them get up more often and more fussy. I thought maybe the dosage was too much for them, making them overtired, and so I cut one gummy into 4 smaller pieces and gave them each only 1/4 of a gummy. The lower dose works so well for my children when they need it I could not be happier and bonus it saves money!!

Take my advice and try to lower the dose and see if that works for your children as well. Side note: The 1/4 gummy even worked for me when I tried it! I truly hope this review will help someone else.

Mel O Licious Melatonin Gummies for Kids Reviews:
My daughter has extremely high energy and trouble settling down to fall asleep. I’ve tried quiet time for an hour before bed. Reading several books and nighttime baths. None of these things were able to get her to relax. With the help of these gummies I am able to give her one 30 minutes before bed time and then finish the routine. She actually yawns and settles into bed willingly after the melatonin starts to work. They are a real life saver. She sleeps better, and longer and doesn’t seem as manic as the night a approaches. These are a must if you have a high energy little one who needs to get to sleep so you can too. A+

A friend recommended I try this for my kids. I started taking melatonin myself this year so why not try it with them. When my kids are having a hard time going to sleep this is what I have been giving them. They are 5 and 8 years old. I only give them half of one gummy and it does the trick. They like the flavor and request it if they are having trouble settling down to go to sleep. Usually one or two times a week. They are asleep within 20 minutes and sleep soundly.
