Best Ceramide Supplements 2023
Ceramides are lipids (fats) naturally found in the outermost layer of the skin, the stratum corneum. They are essential for maintaining the skin's barrier function, which prevents moisture loss and protects against environmental factors like UV rays and pollutants.
As we age or encounter various environmental stresses, our ceramide levels can decline, leading to dryness, irritation, and even premature aging of the skin. In response to this, many skincare products contain ceramides - including creams, lotions, and serums. Moreover, ceramide supplements are also available and can support skin health from the inside out.
Is Ceramide for All Skin Types?
Yes, ceramides are ideal for all skin types - even the most sensitive, dry, or compromised skin barriers because they're naturally a part of your skin. Ceramides will help to keep your skin hydrated, supple, and resilient.Ceramide vs Phytoceramides
Source
Ceramides are naturally occurring lipids found in the skin's outermost layer, while phytoceramides are derived from plants, often wheat, rice, sweet potatoes, or other botanical sources. They are plant-based compounds.
Benefits
Both ceramides and phytoceramides aim to enhance the skin's barrier function, but phytoceramides are often used as supplements to support this process from the inside out.
Supplementation
Ceramides can be applied topically or taken orally as supplements, while phytoceramides are primarily available as oral supplements. Keep note that many phytoceramide supplements are often derived from wheat. Therefore, people with wheat allergies may choose rice phytoceramides as an alternative to wheat-derived phytoceramides.

I have been using SR's phytoceramides for almost two years already, I take one soft gel every day. At the beginning I didn't realize much a the difference, until I started getting compliments about my skin, and more interesting about my age, I am 49 years old and I like to take care of my skin so I didn't realize what it was happening. For a couple of months I stop buying the phytoceramides, and then, I saw the difference in the mirror!! I noticed my skin was sagging, looked dull and like lifeless.. I was wondering what happened, OMG I look old (lol), so, I tracked everything I was eating, drinking and the any supplements I was taking, the only thing that changed was I stopped taking the phytoceramides!!
Immediately I reactivated the Amazon automatic delivery and started taking the soft gels with plenty of water every day, after few week I can see the difference in my skin, I don't know clinical terms to use but I can see my skin looks hydrated from the inside out. I am not a regular reviewer but this product works, it works for me, and hope it works for other ladies like me.

I have purchased this 3 times so far and will continue to do so because nothing I've tried has limited the intensity and duration of anything eczema breakout!

I can’t make this up but this is an awesome product that relieve my psoriasis issue I’ve been dealing with for 10 years. I’m still on my first bottle, and I can say it’s not a miracle pill that will just make your skin perfect overnight, but there is significant improvement to my skin and I only have to use lotion once a day (after showering) instead of multiple times throughout the day.
I also take all kinds of multi vitamins and supplements & I exercise daily (I’m a bikini model) so I suggest stacking these pills among other healthy choices :)
