Today I did my first run. I'm starting slow, by running 1 minute and walking 2 mins. I tried running a few years ago, back when I was about 45 pounds heavier, but it was so hard on my body. I'm pleasantly surprised how much easier it feels now.

Absolutely.

Any significant changes in terms of hunger?
None. I may not run enough to get super hungry, though (especially during the winter when I use a treadmill). I do run every day.

Do you feel happier?
Definitely!
Actually I tend to freak out much more on days that I don't run, so it's a great way to keep my mood stable / get less annoyed with other people / have less need to stress eat etc. So I more or less need to run or I feel anxious.

I don’t think there was any specific food. It’s just portion control and knowing how many calories you’re eating and burning. But my go to meals:
Breakfast:
  • Multigrain toast with peanut butter and sliced banana
  • Kashi cereal with milk
  • Smoothie or smoothie bowl
Lunch:
  • Salad with pasta and cheese
  • Greek yogurt with fruit
  • Half a sandwich (I usually do a few different things)
Dinner 
I try to do a meat (marinated pork loin or chicken) with baked potato or sweet potato and a vegetable.

There isn’t any special food that will magically help you lose weight if you are eating calories in excess.

Lean proteins and a bunch of fruits and veggies. It’s really just as simple as eating less calories, so you need to find foods that fill you up without having a lot of calories.

Also exercise, but that’s in addition to a change in diet. Don’t go on any “diets” like keto or atkins or whatever, you want your changes to be sustainable. Sure some people might be able to do keto long term but most people want bread at some point in their life

Oatmeal, lots of veggies. High fiber diet scrubbed away toxins and made for a good base for added nutrition.

As little carbs as I could and minimal sugar helped as well.
